Putrajaya

The Prime Minister's office
at Perdana Putra
Today, i would like to post about our federal administrative centre of Malaysia, Putrajaya. I am very sure that many of us has visited this place. If i'm telling you this place is beautiful and unique, i'm very sure all of you agree with it. Putrajaya was the brainchild of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad. The reason why Putrajaya was built because the seat of government in Kuala Lumpur was not strategic anymore. It was due to the overcrowding and congestion there. So, the government need to find another place to build federal administrative centre.  In 2001, Putrajaya was made a Federal Territory, increasing the number of federal territories to three. Kuala Lumpur and Labuan are the other two. Named after the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra the city is situated within the Multimedia Super Corridor, beside the also newly developed Cyberjaya. The development started in 1995 and today major landmarks are completed and the population is expected to grow in the relatively new city.
