Do we need to learn Ethnic subject?

Is it important this subject to us?It's just a minor subject in our courses and we have many other critical and 'killing' subject to focus at rather than this. Well, if this sentences keep playing in your mind, you're absolutely and totally wrong. It is right that this subject just a minor for us, but it will give us a big impact in our daily life. Why I said this, it's because we are living in a real world and not a fantasy world. Everyday we are dealing with many people with different races, religions, cultures and colors. So, we need to avoid historical milestone events such as the racial riots of May 13th, 1969 and the Kampung Medan "incident" of 2001. That incident gave us a valuable lesson so that it will never happen again. That's why we need to learn this subject to get a knowledge so that we know how to deal, live and unite with various of ethnic in Malaysia as a family so that we can live together in peace and harmony.
